Earth Day 2024 – Planet vs. Plastics

Published on April 22, 2024

Check out BearingPoint’s Map of the Month April, which addresses the topic of plastic on the special occasion of Earth Day.

On this special occasion of Earth Day 2024, let's take a moment to honour and celebrate our extraordinary planet. Today's theme "Planet vs. Plastics" reminds us of one of the most pressing environmental challenges of our time: plastic pollution. Examining spatial data is crucial to understanding the complexity and causes of plastic pollution. It sheds light on the underlying issues: the excessive production and use of plastic across our planet, coupled with a lack of sufficient waste management systems. Despite the challenges we face, there are opportunities to drive change forward. Together, let's seize these opportunities and contribute to raising awareness and knowledge.
